Resident District Commissioner Amolatar Okello Odoki Francis Rwotlonyo has issued a warning to beneficiaries of the PDM program against the misuse of funds during the Christmas celebrations.
Okello emphasized that the financial assistance is intended to help lift individuals out of poverty, rather than to be spent on festive activities.
He urged recipients, particularly those who have recently received funds, to adhere to the intended purpose of the PDM.
The district administration plans to conduct home visits to assess the impact of the funds on beneficiaries’ lives.
Furthermore, he noted that His Excellency, the President of Uganda, is visiting various regions to evaluate the effects of the PDM on the community.
On December 24, 2024, during an interview with Hot FM 101.6, Okello conveyed his Christmas message and outlook for the New Year 2025.
He cautioned PDM beneficiaries against using the funds for purchasing alcohol or engaging in polygamous marriages.
In his address, he conveyed a message of hope and resilience for those experiencing difficulties, encouraging the community to support one another.
He also called upon residents to embody the spirit of the season in their everyday lives, promoting unity and selflessness as core values for the upcoming year.
His message has fostered a sense of hope and collaboration among the residents of Lango as they celebrate the festive season and anticipate the New Year.
