The police have issued a warning regarding exam malpractices and the illegal sale of exam papers as Senior Four candidates begin their examinations.
During a weekly press briefing, police spokesperson SP Patrick Jimmy Okema emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of the examination process, which is being closely monitored by scouts and invigilators.
He made it clear that any individuals caught engaging in these fraudulent activities will face legal consequences.
During the press briefing, SP Patrick Jimmy Okema also addressed a separate incident involving a suspected mob murder in Kole district.
The victim, identified as 25-year-old Opio Ambrose from Adel-logo parish, was allegedly accused of stealing a trouser and shirt belonging to Ojok Micheal from Ocek-itol village.
After being arrested, Opio claimed he had purchased the items from another individual, Okune, who is also suspected of theft.
Reports indicate that Opio took refuge in the home of a local council member’s mother, where he was subsequently caught and brutally beaten by a mob until he lost consciousness.
Unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries. The territorial police in Kole are currently investigating this tragic incident.
SP Patrick Jimmy Okema reported that Kole district has recorded a troubling total of eight murder cases from September 1st to October 12th.
The incidents include one suspected murders by poisoning, two cases of murder by assault on September 14th and 21st, a murder by mob on September 27th, another murder by assault on September 28th, a stabbing murder on September 29th, and two additional mob-related murders on October 1st and October 12th.
Okema urged the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and called on civil society, cultural, and religious leaders to assist in sensitizing the community about the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully and legally.
