Professor Bishop Alfred Olwa has encouraged students to embody the qualities of salt as they apply their knowledge.
On November 6, 2024, he delivered this message to 1,025 candidates preparing to take their final examinations at Namasale Technical School in Amolatar.
Citing Matthew 5:13-16, he highlighted the significance of practical skills in effecting positive change in one’s life.

Bishop Olwa urged students to execute their skills flawlessly, particularly advising those in the salon industry to focus on enhancing appearances rather than engaging in gossip.
Bishop Olwa encouraged them to view their time at Namasale not just as a stepping stone to their future careers, but as an opportunity to develop character and integrity that would serve them throughout their lives. He urged them to be role models in their communities, using their skills to uplift others and contribute positively to society.
In a closing prayer, the Bishop asked for divine guidance and strength for the students as they prepared for their exams, emphasizing the need for hard work and perseverance.
He reminded them that education is not merely about passing exams, but about the transformative power of knowledge and the ability to make meaningful contributions to the world.
Additionally, Susan Alfred Olwa, the Bishop’s wife, encouraged students to renew their faith and engage with the Bible as a pathway to success.
She specifically urged young girls to prioritize their education and to wait for the appropriate time for marriage, emphasizing that they have a long journey ahead.
Meanwhile, Collins Angwech, the Vice Chairperson of the Board of Governors at Namasale Technical School and the Country Director for Far Away Friends, expressed gratitude to the Bishop for dedicating the students to God.
