Local Chairperson Geoffrey Ocen Announces Candidacy for Kioga North Constituency Member of Parliament

On October 23, 2024, Geoffrey Ocen, the esteemed local chairperson of Amolatar district, officially declared his candidacy for the position of area member of parliament for the Kioga North constituency.

The announcement was made during a press conference held at the Education Hal l on 23rd.Oct.2024, where Ocen expressed his determination to bring positive change and advancements to the region.

Reflecting on his current role as district chairperson, Ocen showcased a remarkable track record of achievements that have laid the groundwork for his pursuit of a higher political position. “I am proud of the progress we have achieved under my leadership, including the procurement of three ambulances, improved road infrastructure, better health services, enhanced educational outcomes, increased funding for education, and the construction of vital school facilities,” Ocen stated.

One of Ocen’s notable initiatives was the introduction of a free ambulance service specifically catering to referrals involving pregnant women and children, demonstrating his commitment to improving healthcare accessibility for vulnerable groups in the community.

In his address, Ocen also addressed the issue of mistreatment faced by fishermen on the lake, highlighting the significant improvements implemented during his tenure.
