In a significant move towards enhancing the economic landscape of Kwania District, the Kwania District Council has officially approved the budget for leasing land, aiming to streamline the process for future developments.

This decision comes after extensive discussions among council members during a meeting held on January 17, 2025, at the Kwania district council hall.

The council has recognized the importance of reducing costs associated with leasing over ten acres of land, viewing this initiative as a pivotal step in promoting the district’s overall development.

Noteworthy contributions were made by several councillors, including Councillor George KK Akaca from Aduku Town Council, Tonny Eron representing Nambeso, James Okol from Bulu, and Solomon Okino from Inomo Town Council. Their financial input reflects a deep concern regarding the potential return on their investments, prompting them to seek guidance from higher authorities within the ministry.

In response to the collective request for increased funding, Geoffrey Alex Ogwal, the chairman of the district, proposed a substantial budget increase from 50,000 to 500,000 shillings. This suggestion aims to ensure that adequate resources are allocated to support the initiative effectively.

Additionally, council chairman Christopher Agum has sanctioned a budget allocation of 450,000 shillings dedicated to necessary documentation and an extra 250,000 shillings for operations within the relevant government department.

This strategic approach underscores the Kwania District Council’s commitment to fostering sustainable growth and improving the socio-economic conditions of its residents. The council remains optimistic that these combined efforts will yield positive results for the community in the near future.
