
Eight farmers groups from Muntu Sub County and Awelo have on Tuesday 1st.Oct.2024 moved to further venture into their Agro ecological framing practices at Odyedo farmer’s model group.
While in their plan field visit in Awelo village Awelo Sub County the district Agro ecology officer Francis Odyek appealed to farmers group to if failed to adopt any agro ecology practice to adopt Agro forestry.
He said that this will help see that there is food and money at home.
Odyek emphasized the importance of planting tress of all verities as one of the food baskets at different homes.
Ronald Obonyo the extension officer Awelo sub county applauded FAPAD for bringing farmers together showing them the right farm practices that suit the climate change.
The area local council three chairpersons Pule Thomas appealed for coordination for good quality seed.
He advised farmers to always consider risk and uncertainty whenever they plant and grow crops.
Situated at the home of one Okucu Alfred one of the model farmers home , farmers were able to observe different cassava varieties, Oranges, Mangoes, cabbages, Grandaunts, Onion, and Beekeeping.
Among the groups were Akonglit, Naibiata, Adyanglit, Acutcami C, Abali, Acamanono, AdwongOlana and Odyedo farmers group.

Empowering Food-Insecure Households through Agroecology for Food, Nutrition, Income Security and Increased Income for Youth, the field visit was organized by FAPAD (Facilitation for peace and development) aiming at strengthening and reinforcing human resource capabilities in order to optimize the work environment and inspire proficient organizational performance.
