Peter Okodo, the aspirant for the Kyoga North Parliamentary seat, has donated food items worth more than 10 million shillings to families affected by floods in Etam Town Council and Sub county in Amolatar District.
The 3,000 kilograms of food items include maize flour and beans.
A total of 100 households who benefited are mainly the disadvantage groups, including the elderly, child headed families, widows, and widowers.
Each family received 20 kilograms of first class maize flour and 10 kilograms of beans.
Handing over the food items to the beneficiaries on Sunday at a function in Etam Town Council on 15th.Dec.2024 yesterday (on Sunday), Okodo explained that he was motivated to help following several testimonies he received from the affected families.
The beneficiaries who could not hide their excitement appealed for more support from other Leaders and especially government.
They blessed Okodo’s move to parliament in 2026, arguing he is the kind of leader they have been anticipating having in Kyoga North Constituency.
Thousands of families have been displaced by the floods in Amolatar district following the rising level of Lake Kyoga.
