In a recent commitment to bolster healthcare services in the Amolatar district, local government officials, led by Paul Samuel Mbiiwa, have pledged to enhance support for the maternity ward at Namasale Health Center III within the coming week.
During a meeting held with journalists on January 9, 2025, Mpibwa articulated plans to temporarily source a midwife from another facility to assist at Namasale while the district undertakes its recruitment process.
He highlighted that Amolatar district aims to recruit three midwives to address critical staffing shortages in various health facilities.
Additionally, Mr. Mbiiwa reported on efforts regarding Acii Health Center III, where the Solicitor General has been notified about a contractor who abandoned the site, breaching their contract.
The district is making strides to ensure that construction will be completed in the upcoming financial year, reinforcing the commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure.
On the topic of educational funding, Mbiiwa acknowledged the receipt of a letter from the ministry regarding Capitation Grants, which currently prevents the early disbursement of funds to schools. However, following a recent headcount, he confirmed that the necessary funds have been allocated to support schools effectively.
The district is actively mobilizing resources for the first-term Capitation Grant to ensure that educational institutions receive the support they need.
Furthermore, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Geoffrey Vurici took a moment to express gratitude to the health workers at Amolatar district local government for their unwavering dedication during the Christmas and New Year period.
He emphasized the importance of ongoing reporting from the health department to identify and address any gaps within health facilities, ensuring that the needs of the community are consistently met.
These developments underscore the Amolatar district government’s proactive approach to enhancing healthcare and educational services, ultimately aiming to improve the quality of life for its residents.
