Namasale residents expel fellow over allege witchcraft

The community of Anga-oryemi cell in Aweipeko parish, Namasale town council Amolatar district, has on 18th.Sept.2024 made a decision to expel an individual identified as Laga Martin, who received 101 votes in a recent vote concerning alleged witchcraft.

Reports from local councilor Okello Isaac indicate that Laga was saved from a potentially violent situation by Hon Otoo Godfrey, the chairperson of the local council, who intervened to prevent harm from an angry mob.

Okello further noted that two other individuals accused of similar practices were pardoned by the community due to receiving fewer votes. He urged local residents to refrain from engaging in witchcraft to foster a peaceful society.

Additionally, Hon Godfrey Ayena Otoo advised the residents of Namasale to avoid the practice of witchcraft while he continues to provide them with support.

Laga has been prohibited from returning to the Aweipeko parish for a period of 100 years.
